| The last time Tom Watson played at the Belvedere Golf Club, he once again pronounced it one of his favorite courses in the world. "Most people playing here probably don't understand why this is truly a great course," he said. While the Belvedere knew he was coming, nothing was made public in order to let Watson enjoy his round with his father. He played in shorts and carried his own bag. His round was highlighted by holing an 8 iron for an eagle two on the 435 yard 7th and by witnessing a hole-in-one by 16 year old Scott Kury of Portage, Michigan (a Belvedere ranger's grandson) on the 157 yard 14th. Scott hit a 5 iron and had the "thrill of his life" when Watson walked over and asked to have his picture taken with the young "ace-maker." Watson didn't reveal his score, but did indicate he had a great day reliving some boyhood memories at the Belvedere Golf Club. | |||||||||||||
